Announcing Chef Support for Azure DevOps

Today we are excited to support the launch of Azure DevOps (formerly Visual Studio Team Services and Team Foundation Server).

Chef Extension for Azure DevOps

The Chef extension for Azure DevOps enables users within organizations to integrate Chef into the build and release phases of their DevOps toolset; specifically, the Azure Pipelines component of the Azure DevOps Suite. Moreover, we have used Azure Pipelines to build these extensions!

Habitat Extension for Azure DevOps

Furthermore, we have extensions for Habitat (our application automation solution) for Azure DevOps. Using these extensions users using the Azure Pipelines service can invoke Habitat to enable tasks such as modernizing legacy applications and building net new Cloud Native applications.

Additional Habitat Integrations for Azure

Earlier this year we built new functionality into Habitat that allows for users to natively export artifacts into Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Registry (ACR). The plugins for Azure Pipelines coupled with Habitat’s ability to output into AKS and ACR provides a seamless experience for Habitat users to refactor and re-architect applications as part of their migration efforts into Azure.

Chef at Microsoft Ignite 2018

If you are at Microsoft Ignite Sept 24-28th in Orlando Fl, we would love to meet and discuss your automation and cloud migration projects. We will be at booth 304 and would love to see you there.
