Thanks to our Community

untitledThis is a week for giving thanks, for recognizing the people, places, and opportunities that bring us happiness and help us achieve success. At Chef, we’re reflecting on what’s most important to us — our community — all of you, our employees, partners, customers, and practitioners who make all that we do at Chef possible.

But it’s not all about work. In fact, it’s about a lot more. Here’s what a few of our employees are thankful for as they reflect back on the year:

“I’m thankful for Ian Henry’s dedication to making the extended Habitat community as delightful as possible.” – JJ Asghar, Senior Partner Engineer

“I am thankful for my girlfriend of six years saying ‘yes’ to marrying me, for my family and friends, and for Dick’s Burgers now accepting credit cards.” – Andy Paroff, Graphic Designer

“As crazy as the world is at this current time in history, I am truly grateful for the amazing people I am surrounded by each and everyday at Chef. We spend a lot of time together, often more than with our families. That said, I’m constantly inspired and motivated by what really drives success here, which I see as a unique combination of passion and long-term perseverance. We are strongest when we work as a sum of our parts. While even Chef can seem like a slog sometimes, it’s our slog.  It makes us gritty and resilient and allows us to be the best we can be.” – Wendy McIntosh, Director; Global Talent Acquisition

Our community is open, inclusive and diverse. When we collectively provide feedback, share expectations and work through problems together, we’re able to build a better company and share in our successes together. We heard you when you asked for increased security protocols, so we introduced InSpec. We heard you when you said you wanted an end-to-end solution, so we launched Chef Automate. And you allowed us to make a bet on a new open source project when we launched Habitat earlier this year.

We’ve seen more than 40 million lifetime downloads of Chef and nearly two million downloads monthly in 2016.

Our passionate community has led to continued growth and expansion. We’re honored to be listed among the 19 companies in Washington state that were named the fastest growing companies in the 2016 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list. Chef was listed as the 210th fastest growing company nationwide, with 385% growth from 2012 to 2015.

So thank you for everything you do! We’re so lucky to work with all of you and look forward to what’s still to come.
