IBM, Alaska Airlines, Orasi recognized at 2018 Chef Awards

Today at ChefConf18 we recognized some of our most innovative Chef customers and partners at our Customer of the Year awards. These awards, in their first year, recognize companies doing awesome things with Chef to drive their businesses forward with automation. Josh Crossman, with help from Adam Jacob and Barry Crist, presented the awards in two categories, Automating Effortless Infrastructure, and Automating Any App, Anywhere.

And the winners are…

Automating Effortless Infrastructure: IBM

IBM is the winner of the 2018 Chef Automating Effortless Infrastructure award! IBM IGA is responsible for managing global infrastructure for all of IBM, with compliance as critical priority. IGA launched Compliance as Code with remediation through Chef Automate. Now they able to assess compliance across global infrastructure from a single view, moving from manual quarterly audits to automated, weekly audits. Dev squads now build, release and deploy compliant changes on their own cadence.

Automating Any App, Anywhere; Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines needed a consistent way to build and deploy applications across multiple clouds, especially with integration of Virgin Airlines. Alaska deployed Habitat to create single development model, help maintain consistency in deployments, and reduce downtime with non-disruptive updates. Alaska also used Habitat to support hybrid environments and multiple application architectures as business needs change and new technologies emerge. This awesome app automation work earned them this award.

Partner of the Year: Orasi Software

Every day, our awesome Chef partners help organizations of all sizes with their DevOps, Cloud and Digital transformations. This year, we are recognizing a partner who stood out from the crowd in their dedication to excellence in growing their team’s capabilities and making their customers achieve their ambitions. The winner of the inaugural Chef Partner of the Year award is Orasi Software! Orasi earned this reward as a recognition for effectively delivering DevOps transformation to leading companies using Chef and other technologies. In addition, Orasi has excelled in their investment in developing a new advanced technology solutions organization within their company. Finally, Orasi walks the walk and talks the talk, with their entire organization from top to bottom dedicating focus to their work to make customers successful with Chef.

Congratulations to all of our 2018 Chef award winners, and thank you again for all that you do to make the Chef community great!
