Getting More Chefs in the Kitchen – Developing Infrastructure as a Team – Andrew Gross

Chef enables a small amount of engineers to manage a complex infrastructure, but distributing cookbook development to more developers can be tricky. Managing clients, validators, cookbooks versions, and databags across machines gets messy. With tools like Vagrant, Berkshelf, Minitest Chef Handlers, RSpec and git, we’re able to provide a familiar environment for our entire development team to turn infrastructure into code. In this talk we will discuss transitioning from a single person being responsible for all chef development to a more robust and distributed process.
