On the Road to #ChefConf – Charlie Mars Brings Rock ‘n Soul Awesomeness

#ChefConf 2013 is shaping up to be a rollicking good time, with visionary speakers, dynamite sessions, big-time sponsors, and the first look at where Opscode Chef is headed from here.

With the show nearly sold-out (if you haven’t already, register asap to ensure you’re spot) and max capacity reached for seven of the eight workshops, we felt it only right to throw a party for 700 or so of our closest friends.

And so, It is my pleasure to announce Charlie Mars will be performing live @ #ChefConf!

Charlie and his band will be giving a special performance for #ChefConf attendees at the Hyatt Embarcadero on Thursday night, 4/25. Preceded by an Opscode-hosted happy hour, Charlie will bring his unique blend of funky rock, melodious hooks, and soulful sound beds to #ChefConf for all of us to enjoy.

Charlie’s buzz continues to build on the strength of his many independent releases, as well as song placements on Showtime’s hit series ‘Weeds‘, and his profile in Esquire Magazine’s Songwriting Challenge. A staple of SXSW, Charlie’s shows are festive, southern-fried good times filled with crowd sing-alongs.

In an indirect way, Charlie’s latest album was brought to you by Chef. You see, it all started as a project on Kickstarter.com, which uses Chef as part of its IT management strategy.

Of course, we’re all headed to #ChefConf 2013 to learn, share, present, and hear how Chef provides the foundation for building the coded business. And no doubt we’ll have fun doing so. Charlie’s Kickstarter project page includes a quote that could just as easily be applied to the Chef community: “This is our party. Here is your invite. Everyone is invited.” Let’s change the world and enjoy some great music along the way.

See you in San Francisco!
