An Award-Winning Way to Start 2020

Chef Rings in 2020 with Multiple Industry Award Wins for Chef EAS and Chef InSpec

Chef is kicking off 2020 on a high note announcing five new industry awards signifying our ongoing recognition from the industry as the DevOps leader. These awards underscore the Chef team’s hard work and strong leadership, as well as the dedicated community and customers that are providing truly unique benefits to their teams and industries.

This is also further testament to Chef’s momentum after last year’s move to 100 percent open source, and the launch of Chef Enterprise Automation Stack™ (EAS). Chef EAS is built from the same open source code and has unified our previously distinct solutions — Chef InSpec, Chef Automate, Chef Infra, Chef Habitat and Chef Workstation — to enable a seamless transition from establishing compliance through application automation.

These efforts continue to attract industry recognition and response. Here is a recap of the awards we won over the past six months:

The Devies

The Devies are presented at the world’s largest developer trade show, DeveloperWeek, and Chef EAS was named a leader in the DevTech industry when it took home Best Innovation in Cloud Tools. Developers have many choices when it comes to adopting technologies, so we are grateful for the recognition of helping organizations to efficiently deliver applications on any platform, on-premises or in the cloud.

Cloud Computing Security Excellence Awards

The Cloud Computing Security Excellence Awards presented by TMC’s Cloud Computing Magazine, honor solutions that most effectively leverage cloud platforms to deliver network security, and those providing security for cloud applications. InSpec was selected as a winner for its contributions to the cloud marketplace, and it has seen a remarkable increase in user adoption, as security continues to be the leading consideration in cloud deployment.

Best in Biz Awards

The Best in Biz Awards is an independent business awards program judged by prominent members of top-tier press organizations. In this cross-industry competition, Chef EAS was awarded Best New Enterprise Product of the Year! We are very proud of this award, as the 2019 judging panel included writers from Accounting Today, AdWeek, Associated Press, Barron’s, eWeek, USA Today and Wired.

International Business Awards (Stevies)

The International Business Awards (Stevies) are a set of business awards with over 4,000 nominations across 74 countries. They recognize the accomplishments and contributions of companies across all industries worldwide. Chef earned recognition in two categories – PR Campaign of the Year and Governance, Risk & Compliance Business Technology. We were awarded the Business Technology award for Chef InSpec, in the category that recognizes the best software solutions that provide a structured and systematic approach to ensure proper governance, manage risks and ensure compliance across an organization.

We are extremely grateful to have received these awards from these prominent organizations, and we look forward to celebrating our hard work and success together with you in 2020. Many thanks to our loyal community for making these recognitions possible!
