Chef Fundamentals Open Training Update

I am pleased to announce that Opscode’s Chef Fundamentals open training materials have been updated to a new version. If you signed up for Open Training in the last month or so, you should have received a link to the updated materials.

Highlights of the new release:

  • Slide theme is consistent with the new web site.
  • Each unit has an accompanying lab (10 total).
  • Material reflects recent versions of Chef.

Just like books, course training materials are often out of date when they’re published. In the last year since we published the first release of the training materials, Chef itself has been updated several times. The new materials don’t reflect all the possible features of Chef, nor should they as they are intended as a fundamental teaching base, and not comprehensive coverage of all features. We will also update the advanced training course and make its materials available as well. Keep an eye on this blog for more announcements.

Opscode uses these training materials for the Opscode Chef Fundamentals training course and part of the Opscode Chef Cooking Basics package. If you would like Opscode to train your team, please see the Training page for additional information including pricing.

If you already signed up for Open Training and received the older materials, you can get the new version from the same link. If you do not have the link, or you have not yet signed up for Open Training, you can do so here.
